The book Criss Cross written Lynne Rae Perkins is about a girl named Debbie, and a boy named Hector. They both want a special wish to come true. Debbie wishes that something good would happen to her. By making sure that her wish comes true, she puts her finger in her neckless chain, and then she twists her finger around until the chain breaks and falls to the floor. While Hector is walking by a mirror on his way to the kitchen, he sees a light in the mirror. He thinks to make a wish. That special wish is to be more like is 17 year old sister Rowanne. He wishes he could be like Rowanne, because he thinks that she is amazing, and he wants to be amazing just like her.
