The ending of the book Criss Cross had a twist to it. At the end of the book, there was a giant block party and a pig roast. Hector was going to sing and play the guitar and because the theme of the party was a luau, Hector got dressed up in Hawaiian clothes. Hector was playing on the roof of someone’s house. Bit by bit people started climbing up the ladder to listen to him sing. Some of those people were Patty, Lenny, and Debbie.  Debbie was sitting at a table talking to Rochelle when Lenny came over and asked Debbie if she wanted to go to a movie with him. Debbie said no because she thought it was a joke, but it was not. After asking Debbie if she wanted to go to the movies, Lenny asked Patty if she wanted to go to the movie with him, and she said yes.  I thought this was a twist because I did not think that Lenny liked Patty or Debbie. A little bit after, Debbie was lying on the grass with Hector. Hector had found Debbie’s necklace and forgot to give it to her so that night he put it on her. After Hector and Debbie sat on the grass for a while, everyone joined them and they watched the stars together.
